tastytrade
ShareCalc imports tastytrade's transaction history CSV.
Export and import
- Sign in to tastytrade and open History, then Transactions.
- Set the dates to start on the day you opened the account.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list until every transaction has loaded.
- Select CSV to download the file.
Step 3 matters: tastytrade loads the list a bit at a time as you scroll, and transactions that haven't loaded may be left out of the file.
Use non-overlapping date ranges. Only some transactions have IDs; see duplicate handling.
Add the file to an import in ShareCalc and leave File Format set to Auto-detect.
Coverage
Amounts are in the currency shown on each transaction.
- Buys and sells, with their commission and fees, and whether each opens or closes a position. Options keep their type (call or put), expiry and underlying share.
- Option expiries, assignments and exercises, including ones settled in cash.
- Interest on your cash, including interest you paid.
- Deposits.
- Regulatory fee adjustments (shown by tastytrade as a balance adjustment), as a fee or a fee refund.
Anything else is listed in Import Messages as an unknown transaction type and not imported.
Not imported
Add these in Transactions, or with a ShareCalc CSV.
- Dividends and withdrawals. ShareCalc's tastytrade importer doesn't currently import these.
- Shares transferred in or out of tastytrade.
Checks and fixes
Review Import Messages and follow the shared checks.
- Option assignments and exercises. tastytrade records each as two lines: one removing the option, and one delivering the shares or settling it in cash. ShareCalc imports the two together. If one is missing, for example because they fall either side of the end of your file, it isn't imported and Import Messages names the line. Download a period that includes both, or add it in Transactions.
- New shares in Assets. Equity options get their type automatically. Every other new share or fund is added as Unclassified.
