IG

ShareCalc imports the trade history CSV from an IG share dealing account. Exclude ISAs, SIPPs and spread betting accounts. CFD accounts are unsupported.

Export and import

  1. Sign in to My IG and choose your share dealing account.
  2. Open History, then Trade history.
  3. Choose the dates you want and show the trades.
  4. Select Download CSV.

Export all transactions since the account opened.

IG supplies transaction IDs. See duplicate handling when importing overlapping reports.

Add the file to an import in ShareCalc and leave File Format set to Auto-detect.

Coverage

  • Buys and sells. IG's commission and charges, including any stamp duty, are recorded as the trade's fee. Fee or tax, it reduces your gain in the same way.
  • Trades in a foreign currency are recorded in that currency, along with IG's exchange into your account's currency. IG's exchange charge is part of its rate.
  • Paired corporate actions that increase your share count, imported as splits.

Anything else in the file is listed in Import Messages and not imported.

Not imported

The trade history only has trades. Add these yourself in Transactions, or with a ShareCalc CSV:

  • dividends;
  • interest;
  • money paid in and taken out.

Checks and fixes

Review Import Messages and follow the shared checks.

  • New shares in Assets. The file names each share only by its market name, with no ticker or ISIN. Check each new share in Assets, and add its ticker or ISIN so it matches the same share bought through another broker. If the same share appears twice, merge them. New shares are added as Unclassified.
  • Account currency. ShareCalc infers your account currency from a row with an exchange rate of 1. If no such row exists, it defaults to GBP and reports this in Import Messages.
  • Company events. Both the removal of old shares and receipt of new shares must appear on the same day. Events with a missing half or a reduced share count are skipped. Use Import Messages to identify and add them in Transactions.
