Other Broker Formats

This page covers Trading 212, Charles Schwab, Robinhood, Hargreaves Lansdown, Tasty Trade, and IG. Use the broker's original export rather than a file resaved by spreadsheet software.

Trading 212

Import the transaction-history CSV. Auto-detection recognises the No. of shares and Price / share columns.

The parser supports market and limit buys, market, limit, and stop sells, dividends, manufactured dividends, and dividend interest. It preserves available symbols, ISINs, broker transaction IDs, fees, and taxes.

When the instrument currency differs from the account total currency, ShareCalc records the broker conversion supplied by the export. GBX amounts are normalised to GBP. Missing optional columns and totals that do not reconcile are reported for review; other action types are skipped.

Charles Schwab

Import the transaction history as CSV, or as the JSON object containing the BrokerageTransactions array.

The parser supports:

  • stock and option trades, option expiry, assignment and exercise;
  • dividends;
  • broker interest, with any US tax withheld from it;
  • withdrawals and deposits;
  • cash in lieu of fractional shares, imported as a capital distribution;
  • cash mergers, imported as a sale of the shares.

It also reconciles cancelled trades, and adjustments that reverse a transfer.

Some rows do not contain all the information required and you will have to fix them manually:

  • A stock split has no ratio. You need to find the ratio of the split and set it on the transaction.
  • A spin-off has no parent company. You need to set the parent asset for the spin-off.
  • Where several dividends for one security are paid on the same day, such as a fund's dividend and capital gain, it's ambiguous which of them the tax rows beside them belong to. The dividends are imported without tax and the tax rows are not imported, so you will have to add the tax to the right dividends manually.
  • Income and tax adjustments that cannot be attributed will be skipped in the import. ShareCalc does not support standalone adjustments so these are not imported and you will have to update the target transactions manually.

Cash amounts are treated as USD. Journal rows are internal operations and are skipped. Option assignment and exercise require the related underlying trade to be adjacent in the export and unmatched events are reported.

Robinhood

Import the transaction-history CSV with columns including Activity Date, Settle Date, and Trans Code.

The parser supports stock and option trades, interest, deposits and withdrawals, dividends with related fees and tax, UK stock rewards, option expiry, and option assignment. Dividends, rewards, and assignments can span several rows; ShareCalc groups them only when their identifying fields agree.

Robinhood dates are date-only. Unknown transaction codes and incomplete multi-row groups are skipped and reported. Review option quantities, rewards, withholding tax, and balances carefully.

Hargreaves Lansdown

Import the trade-history CSV containing the header Trade date, Settle date, Reference, Description, .... The parser ignores the account-summary preamble before that header.

It supports GBP buys and sells, deposits and withdrawals identified by transfer references, and broker interest. It does not import a dividend-history export. Because the trade-history file may identify a security primarily through its description, review every created asset and merge or alias it where necessary.

Tasty Trade

Import the transaction-history CSV beginning with Date, Type, Sub Type, Action, ....

The parser supports stock and option trades, option expiry, physical and cash-settled assignment and exercise, credit interest, deposits, and recognised regulatory fee adjustments. It preserves option type, expiry, underlying, and open/close information where the file supplies them.

Assignment and exercise are represented by related rows. If an option-removal row cannot be paired with its cash settlement or underlying equity leg, the event is skipped and reported. Unrecognised money movements are also skipped.

IG

Import the dealing-history CSV beginning with TextDate, Time, Activity, Market, Direction, ....

The parser supports buys, sells, fees and charges attached to those trades, broker FX conversion, and paired corporate-action rows represented as splits. The dealing-history export does not contain dividends, interest, deposits, or withdrawals, so obtain or enter those separately.

IG does not explicitly name the account currency. ShareCalc derives it from rows with a conversion rate of one. If a statement contains only foreign-currency trades, it falls back to GBP and reports a warning; verify and correct the result if the account is denominated in another currency. Unpaired corporate-action rows are skipped.
